Cross Country

PROGRAM  OVERVIEW

Student-athletes in 6th-9th grade (4th & 5th with coach permission) can tryout for the cross country team, which competes in the Fall semester. Our program is overseen by our beloved AC coaches and knowledgable staff.

Practices are held Monday through Thursday from 3:30-5:00pm on the upper campus field or the practice course described below. The team typically attends 2-3 open events prior to the TCSAAL Regional Meet, from which state qualifiers are determined. The invitational State Meet for top student-athletes concludes our cross country season each year.

Time trials for the 2018-2019 school year will be held in late September following opening matches for volleyball and football. Student-athletes participating in other fall sports can absolutely join the cross country team with AD and coach approval. Jubilee Sports ATX is committed to having students grow as athletes and young leaders by challenging themselves in multiple sports and learning to balance a variety of responsibilities above and beyond their academic pursuits.

Cross country athletes only need a good pair of running shoes and a few pairs of shorts/shirts to compete. They'll be expected to eventually complete a 2-mile course in meets, but should not be discouraged if they are unable to run uninterrupted at the beginning of the season. As long as they are willing to show perseverance and are excited about the prospect of setting "personal bests", we'd love to have them be part of the program. The entire program gains a competitive advantage with a large squad due to the dynamics of meet scoring
